CEC is going to Spain!

CEC is planning a student cultural immersion trip to Spain in March 2015. The trip is open to select Spanish dance students, Senior Dance Mastery, and select soccer players from the school. Students will learn about Spanish language and culture through a variety of different means - museum visits, cultural experiences, dance classes, performances, and soccer activities for our school athletes. All of these activities and experiences in the various cities visited (Madrid, Cordoba, Seville) will give them the opportunity to experience first-hand the diversity of the different regions of Spain.

Once we understand and experience where we come from, it gives us a clearer image of where we are, who we are, and why. This experience will challenge our dancers to explore dance forms outside their scope and to use these lessons to enhance their versatility as dancers. We are busy arranging great classes, workshops, and performances for our dancers, which will challenge them to really grow and expand their knowledge of Spanish dance.

We are also arranging for modern and contemporary dance classes to expand their repertoire as dancers and challenge their bodies in different ways. They will be attending performances in which they will be able to more deeply grasp and understand the subtleties and meaning of the dance and experience it on a more emotional and profound level, thus eventually being able to transfer that knowledge into their own performances.

If you have not yet registered, but are interested in joining the group, or for more information, please contact Elisabela Alvarez-Valls.
