Dr. Daniel Andai, renowned violinist and conductor and New World School of the Arts Dean of Music gave a wonderful master class to the students in our Strings Department. Three violin students performed: Sabrina Perez (Lower School), Diego Varela (Upper School), and Paloma Diaz (CEC High School Division). They did a phenomenal job and demonstrated incredible openness in receiving and applying feedback. The audience, made of violin and cello students and members of the Junior and Senior Music Mastery were absolutely enthralled. They were a wonderful audience with impeccable etiquette and attention. Michael L. Breaux holds degrees in music education (BME, Louisiana State University) and music performance (MM, Yale). In addition, he holds a professional diploma in educational leadership. He is currently completing his Ed.D. in music education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his dissertation research focuses on both the cognitive strategies used and the eye movements used in scanning music for important information during sight-reading.
