Violin Master Class with Dr. Daniel Andai
Dr. Daniel Andai, renowned violinist and conductor and New World School of the Arts Dean of Music gave a wonderful master class to the students in our Strings Department. Three violin students performed: Sabrina Perez (Lower School), Diego Varela (Upper School), and Paloma Diaz (CEC High School Division). They did a phenomenal job and demonstrated incredible openness in receiving and applying feedback. Spring Art Show
Congratulations to Ms. Vazquez and our amazing young artists for the success of this year’s art show! Themed “What a Wonderful World,” it was a celebration of beauty and joy. From a magical glow-in-the-dark candyland buffet experience, a forest of ceramic woodland creatures and plants, to stations celebrating the wonder of different countries and their traditions, to our artists’ portraits and self-portraits celebrating the beauty of each other and themselves, it was a true depiction of how wonderful the world can be. Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition
Congratulations to four of our Conservatory piano students who participated in the 5th Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition! Felipe Diez (high school division, 14 years old) was selected as a finalist for the Category D Piano Solo. Oscar Mosquera, David Rodriguez, and Eduardo Diaz (3rd grade) all advanced to the semi-finalist round in the Category B Piano Solo Division. Hundreds of young pianists from around the world competed. Spring Dance Concert
Saturday, May 6th – 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.Rosita Segovia Theatre Congratulations to the dancers who performed in this weekend’s Spring Dance Concert! The Spring Dance Concert is a celebration of the work and progress of our Conservatory dancers. It was a beautiful performance that truly exemplified the effort, talent, and versatility of our young dancers. Congratulations to the dance faculty involved in the performance, who each day share their knowledge, wisdom, patience, and love with their students: Danella Bedford, Marisol Moreno, Cristina Masdueño, Kenia Garcia Cabrera, Ph.D., and Ali Rae Goudreau. Spring Music Concerts
The Spring Music Concerts featured the CEC music students across the department’s various levels. Concerts took place from April 24th through May 3rd at 5:30 p.m in CEA’s Rosita Segovia Theatre. Our utmost applause and admiration goes out to our music faculty and students. The lessons these children learn each year through their continual practice and performance preparation are irreplaceable. Congratulations to the dancers who were inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) Secondary Program (high school division). We are so proud of our dancers, all of whom began their dance journeys at CEA/CEC and have grown into intelligent, lovely, and hard-working young women who continue to develop their talents with hearts full of love. For 87 years, Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts (CEC) has maintained their commitment to the development of young artists. CEC offers students exceptional technical and artistic training within a nurturing environment that allows them to develop into human beings with a deep understanding, appreciation, and respect for the Arts. Enrollment is open to the community and not limited to students from the Academy. Classes are also available for professionals and adults.
