Fernanda Miranda – Chopin Foundation

Fernanda Miranda, CEA and CEC Class of 2015 Fernanda Miranda, CEA/CEC class of 2015, is currently a senior at Georgia State University College of the Arts. She began her piano training at CEC with Alina Gonzalez and Yirka Ledon. This summer, she was invited by the Chopin Society of Atlanta to participate and perform in the Chopin Academy Paris International Summer Session at Conservatoire de Vincennes and Chopin in Vienna week-long program for Atlanta and Musik21 students in cooperation with Gulda School of Music Vienna. Spanish Dancers Perform at FIU Spanish Conference

On September 25th, the Spanish dance department was invited back to perform as the official representatives of Spanish culture at the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain‘s Spanish Educators’ Conference, held at Florida International University. CEC is one of the few institutions to honor the four disciplinary traditions of Spanish dance: classical Spanish dance, Escuela Bolera, folklore, and flamenco, giving our dancers an appreciation of the richness of Spanish dance and the historical and geographical context for their area of study. Violin Master Class with Dr. Daniel Andai

Dr. Daniel Andai, renowned violinist and conductor and New World School of the Arts Dean of Music gave a wonderful master class to the students in our Strings Department. Three violin students performed: Sabrina Perez (Lower School), Diego Varela (Upper School), and Paloma Diaz (CEC High School Division). They did a phenomenal job and demonstrated incredible openness in receiving and applying feedback. Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition

Congratulations to four of our Conservatory piano students who participated in the 5th Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition! Felipe Diez (high school division, 14 years old) was selected as a finalist for the Category D Piano Solo. Oscar Mosquera, David Rodriguez, and Eduardo Diaz (3rd grade) all advanced to the semi-finalist round in the Category B Piano Solo Division. Hundreds of young pianists from around the world competed. CEC offers students exceptional technical and artistic training within a nurturing environment that allows them to develop into human beings with a deep understanding, appreciation, and respect for the Arts. Enrollment is open to the community and not limited to students from the Academy. Classes are also available for professionals and adults.
