
Javier Concepcion is a professional Cuban musician who has proven success through the years as a pianist, composer and producer. In 2001, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in classical piano performance from the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in Havana, Cuba, earning several awards throughout his studies. In Cuba, he performed with several bands including “Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco”. After moving to the United States in 2002, Javier shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Jose Alberto El Canario, La India, Giovanny Hidalgo, Gloria Estefan, Pitbull, Marcos Yaroide, Nestor Torres, Francisco Céspedes, Victor Manuel, Jennifer Holiday, Martha Wash, Jose Feliciano, Rita Moreno, Patty LaBelle, and Cindy Lauper among others. He toured over 20 countries with Arturo Sandoval and played in different jazz festivals, including the “Montreux Jazz Festival” and the “Newport Jazz Festival.” Since 2008, Mr. Concepcion has toured with the Mexican band “Los Temerarios,” performing in more than 60 cities across the United States and Mexico.
Mr. Concepcion has recorded many albums, including Gloria Estefan’s Grammy Award winning albums, “90 Millas” and “Brazil 305,” Mijares’ “Zona Preferente,” Carlos Oliva’s “Y Seguimos Guarachando,” Josh Groban’s “Harmony,” Il Volo’s “Amame” and “Grande Amore,” and The Wailers’ Latest 2020 Album “One World.” He was a music engineer in the Nat King Kole album, “A Sentimental Christmas.” In 2014, he created the music arrangements for Emilio Estefan’s scores for the documentary, Unbreakable Bond. In 2017, Mr. Concepcion performed in the 40th Anniversary Kennedy Center Honors for Gloria Estefan. In 2019, he performed in Gloria Estefan’s band for multiple honors ceremonies, including the “Gershwin Awards” in Washington D.C. He also created the orchestration and arrangement for the song “Libertad,” produced by Emilio Estefan honoring the Cuban people’s pursuit of freedom.
Mr. Concepcion is part of Telemundo’s musical team as arranger and programmer for La Voz Kids. He has gained an outstanding reputation as a Musical Director for Willy Chirino, Charlie Zaa, Gloria Estefan, and Emily Estefan. He has performed with Emily Estefan on NBC Today, YouTube Space in New York, and the Cutting Room. He records constantly for different artists including Juan Gabriel, and works closely with world renowned producer Emilio Estefan. In 2022, he created the arrangement and orchestration of the National Cuban Anthem, which was performed and recorded by the FIU Symphony Orchestra. Most recently in 2023, in addition to touring with Los Temerarios, Mr. Concepcion has been actively working on many projects with Emilio and Gloria Estefan for Broadway productions. Mr. Concepcion has been on the piano faculty at Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts since 2022.
