Dance Now! Miami Program I, feat. Women II

Five Conservatory dancers were selected to form part of Dr. Daniel Lewis’ newest choreography, Women II, a beautiful piece in response to the recent #MeToo movement. We are thrilled that our young dancers have had this incredible opportunity to work with Dr. Lewis and perform alongside the incredible artists from Dance Now! Miami, directed by CEA jazz teacher, Diego Salterini and Hannah Baumgarten. National Dance Educators’ Conference

The Conchita Espinosa Youth Dance Ensemble and Segovia Spanish Dance were invited to performed at the National Dance Educators’ Conference on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. DNEO is the premier conference for dance educators from across the nation to come together and share and expand their knowledge of dance. CEC presented Macramé by Danella Bedford and Jota “La Dolores” by Marisol Moreno.  The performance was closed for conference attendees only and took place at New World School of the Arts.

Florida Dance Association’s Young Dancers’ Workshop

The CEC dancers spent an outstanding weekend in Gainesville, Florida for the Florida Dance Association’s Young Dancers’ Workshop.  They had the opportunity to take a variety of classes in different dance styles, including ballet, modern dance, African, hip hop, jazz and even yoga! They were also one of the few middle school age groups to participate in the evening gala performances, where they performed “Lost in Translation,” choreographed by Danella Bedford.

JOIN THE LEGACY

For 87 years, Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts (CEC) has maintained their commitment to the development of young artists. CEC offers students exceptional technical and artistic training within a nurturing environment that allows them to develop into human beings with a deep understanding, appreciation, and respect for the Arts. Enrollment is open to the community and not limited to students from the Academy. Classes are also available for professionals and adults.
